Digital Radiology & Digital Dental X-Rays for Enhanced Veterinary Diagnostics
Diagnostic imaging is essential in veterinary medicine. At Center City Veterinary Hospital, we offer the latest technology in our radiology department — digital X-rays and digital dental X-rays.
Digital Radiology Offers Enhanced Images
X-rays provide an excellent method for examining the bones, joints, and organs of a sick or injured pet. Digital radiology also helps us to monitor the healing process after orthopedic surgical procedures. Our hospital offers the most advanced X-ray technology available in veterinary medicine: digital radiology.
Digital radiology is a form of X-ray imaging. In place of traditional photographic film, we use digital X-ray sensors. These digital sensors eliminate the need for chemical film processing and use less radiation to produce an image, much safer and more efficient than traditional X-rays.
Digital X-rays give us the ability to digitally transfer and enhance images. These images can be acquired immediately, digitally modified, and shared within a computer network or via Internet. A consulting veterinarian can view the requested image on a desktop or a personal computer and file a report in minutes after the examination. The images can be seen simultaneously by any number of doctors and specialists.
Digital Dental X-Rays
Our veterinarians use digital radiography for all of our dental procedures. Using an electronic sensor instead of X-ray film, a detailed image can be viewed immediately on a computer screen. These images allow us to view tiny details in your pet’s teeth and under the gum line, for greater accuracy and to minimize the need for repeat procedures.
